Muse win best rock album award at Grammys 2016

British trio win the award for the second time for a concept album tracing the journey from abandonment to indoctrination.
Muse have won the best rock album award at the Grammy awards for the second time. Having previously picked up the prize for their 2011 album, they have now picked it up for their seventh studio album, Drones.

The trio, originally from the British seaside resort of Teignmouth, are noted for their everything-including -the-kitchen-sink approach to music and singer Matt Bellamy’s fascination with conspiracy theories and the nature of power. Bellamy said of Drones: “To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by drones utilising drones to turn us all into drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”

The album was a huge commercial success, topping the charts around the world, including in the US. In a four-star review for Rolling Stone, David Fricke wrote: “Drones is a truly guilty pleasure, like watching The Daily Show and knowing Jon Stewart’s best jokes start with someone else’s colossal error or hurt. The concept here is even darker than Muse’s 2012 planet-death treatise, The 2nd Law: the long-distance killing of modern warfare and the collateral damage in conscience and ideals.

The other nominees were: James Bay – Chaos and the Calm; Death Cab for Cutie – Kintsugi; Highly Suspect – Mister Asylum; Slipknot – .5: The Grey Chapter.

Блин, только больше причин его купить, а то я давно раскачиваюсь.
Может, даже уже завтра получится...
Надо будет посмотреть.

С интересными ощущениями думаю - а ведь я видал их живьём... Впервые в жизни, слушаю музыкантов, которых видал живьём... И получили они награду за диск, многие песни с которого (если верить Интернету) мне нравятся...
А может, это простуда, а то у меня вдруг сопли.
