AAAAAAAH, these toys a scaring me! They are just TOO alive.

“Mommy the doll is pulling my hair!”

“Don’t be ridiculous, honey”

“But, it’s true, mommy. Mommy heeeeelp! Gah *choking sound*”

And that’s what can happen.

See, that fear is why we should expose children to such technologies as early as possible - so that they will not be afraid of them and in the situation you desribed, they'd actually have the courage and confidence to "kill" the doll the moment it starts "pulling their hair". They will have to remember that its JUST a doll - piece of plastic- and they (as humans) are the ones controlling said plastic.

I think I have missed something here. Weren’t “someone” just a little over a month ago (I think) was telling me all about how they were thinking to argue about a certain topic along the lines of preventing children’s access to technology. Now it sounds contradictory. Expose them to it as soon as possible? What happened? What’s up with this sudden change of view?

Well, I've discussed my topic with father - he said I'm being an idiot. This time I paid attention to the statement because he actually justified it: apparently, the Iron Curtain - in this case, to separate children and technology - was not necessarily my idea, and neither is it a good one. So I figured, instead of separating them until young adulthood, make the technology part of their lives - seeing how much of the lives of children is controlled by parents, it is not unsafe to assume that the technology of children will also be controlled by parents. You see, the present generation of kids is pretty much the first to have SO MUCH (fairly high-)tech stuff available to them, so everyone is just overwhelmed - both parents and kids. The net generation of both parents and kids will know that technology is still just that and not some extra special power that allows you to transcend morality and ethics.

Maybe I should just suggest ethics as mandatory subject in schools - just so kids know that cyber bullying is STILL bullying and therefore wrong, and that not paying for something while taking it (i.e. music) IS indeed stealing it.
