Was taken to see the newest Potter movie on Saturday. 3D IMAX.
Thestrals and Malfoy-father - NICE.
Slash and yaoi EVERYWHERE: when Snape dragged Potter down the staircase, when Lupin held Harry, when Sirius came to train station to say goodbye, when Umbridge officially forbade heterosexual relations, and I'm not even talking about Lucius Malfoy. Aaah, he's blond, he's BLOND!!!! AAAAh!!! *headdesks*
An interesting thought expressed in the following quote from here:
LUCIUS (heavy sigh): I am the only sensible person here, and I am dressed like a leather queen in a Dolly Parton wig.
Indeed, Lucius Malfoy seemed like Lucius Malfoy, as opposed to Jason Isaacs cosplaying Lucius Malfoy (even thought he was supposedly dressed weirdly and the kids were in outfits intended to be perceived as "normal" by the audience). I swear, the only acting in the movie was done by Alan Rickman and Jason Isaacs - they showed more than one emotion, at least. The rest of the people were too busy trying to look noble and righteous while being terrified of looking dorky, each displaying only one trait that is supposed to identify the character. Of course, that's how they looked - dorky. Too fake.
Also it is interesting to note that the green glasses flashing on the screen were greeted by the knowing rumble from the audience - while we knew that the effects would be saved exclusively for the Fight in the Ministry, we WERE getting bored by those idiots being dorks.
